We have our bags!!!!

Today I am happy to report that our luggage arrived over the weekend! The bags came into CDG on the next flight after we arrived and spent several days being shuffled around. A call came to Emmanuelle asking her where rue des Roses was located in Avignon!!! All of the suitcase tags specifically said CARPENTRAS. Sigh. Well at least we have them and Maya and Oscar got their birthday presents.
Papet Jean Claude is happy to spend time with Maya...

Oscar is very independent and really wants to feed himself....

Maya and I got in a bit of yoga together like we always do on the bed...she likes the bridge pose best but I prefer windshield wipers! At least this kept me calm as we searched for our luggage!

We moved in to our little apartment on bd Albin Durand...here are some views of where we are staying this time. Very high ceilings and tile floors and it is within walking distance of shops etc. I'll write more about that later. This is the street seen from our door.

Here is the bank across the street from us..

 Living/dining room
view from the kitchen to living/dining area...

this is what we see from the kitchen window...it is the Chapelle du college St. Joseph

this is looking down from the living room windows

There is a little hallway entrance and that leads into the two bedrooms and bathroom. Here is a picture of the main bedroom.

It is a very pleasant apartment.

On Saturday we went over to Aix-en-Provence for a family birthday celebration with all of Emmanuelle's family. It was really so much fun and here is Oscar with his two grannies.

I'm happy I can finally change clothes again but I've learned that you can live with much less than you think!!! I'll have more to show next entry but for now we have to get out and do some shopping!
A bientôt!

  1. So happy for you! It is true: we can get by with fewer clothes, but it is nice to change now-and-then. You grandmas look terrific! Lucky Oscar & Maya. The apartment is very cute. After our brief time in Provence last month, and having met Catherine & Gille, we look forward to visiting Carpentras some time!
