Seeing Christmas lights in Paris

Oui! Paris est la ville lumière!
It was time to get out in the very mild evening to see the lights on the Champs Elysées and it did not disappoint!

We braved a crowded metro and stepped out to see the Arc de Triomphe all lit up...there is something so beautiful about a monument like this with lights on it.

Across the Champs Elysées the  big drugstore had lights wrapped around the building which came on like a wide, white ribbon tying itself around the building. I tried to get the best shot but I guess you just had to be there.

Cartier's was wrapped with a big red bow and a leopard looking down on everyone.

At the end of the Champs is the big ferris wheel and you can see its lights in the distance.

We walked down the avenue and I just took pictures.

When we stopped to admire the window at Guerlain they suddenly started to blow real snow down onto the street and it was perfumed!!! That's the kind of snow I like.

The Tiffany store was all lit in turquoise and had wreaths made of the famous little turquoise boxes.

These are two of the inside window scenes.

At the Toyota store we got a glimpse of a future city car...looks to me like a motorcycle with a chassis!
At each end of the Champs, just before Concorde they have Marché de Noël which are just lots of stands with food and trinkets...a bit like Saturday Market in Portland but really not much artisan made things unfortunately.

You can see the Eiffel tower glowing off in the distance.

Next time I'll show you some of the store windows which were filled with fairies and space creatures!
