Thursday was the birthday celebration for the six year old big sister!! The cake was a tarte aux pommes requested by the birthday girl. There were some magic candles too which kept relighting themselves!!
There was a treasure hunt too to find each present and we all had a great time. Later the family of four posed for a selfie which I just love!
Earlier JC was the one who got to give Oscar dinner. You can see that he is enjoying the job!
On Wednesday we went to ballet here
and then there was some post class demonstration of graceful positions.
Oscar and I had some time together while Maya performed.
Friday it was the date of the exercise class luncheon and we met in Beaumes de Venise.
The restaurant was called "la part des anges"(check out the huge wisteria next door!!! so perfumed) which has a meaning in wine making.
It is the part of the liquid that evaporates from the barrel once the wine has settled (I think I got it right).
Our group was ready for a very yummy lunch which included a glass of Beaumes de Venise muscat as aperitif with pâté
followed by baked fish with aioli toast and rice
and dessert was a delicious ice cream with pistaches and whipped cream...I forgot to photograph but here is the empty plate!
After the luncheon JC and I headed over to Nice (his hometown) to visit cousin Patricia. It is only a 2.5 hour drive and the day was perfect for the drive not too warm, a little bit overcast but no rain. We arrived just in time for the semi rush hour but I wanted to drive down the Promenade des Anglais made famous by so many artists especially Dufy.
The sea was an incredible turquoise color.
We will do some walking around over the weekend but the weather forecast malheureusement is not for real sunshine!!! I'll have more to say later!!! Bon weekend.
